Frequently Asked Questions
InpaintHub is a directory and review site for AI inpainting and photo retouching tools. This FAQ covers how the site works, how tools are listed and reviewed, and how to submit corrections or new tools.
About InpaintHub
What is InpaintHub? Who is it for?
InpaintHub helps you discover and compare inpainting tools with practical, scenario-based notes. It’s useful for operators, designers, AI builders, developers, and anyone shipping work where image editing quality, speed, and pricing constraints matter.
Start with the tools directory or browse our reviews.
Are you affiliated with the official tool vendors?
No. InpaintHub is an independent site. Tool names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Why build this site?
There are too many tools and too much marketing noise. We exist to reduce trial-and-error by providing navigation, comparisons, and plain-language explanations of trade-offs.
Inclusion and the tool database
How does a tool get listed? What are your inclusion standards?
We try to list tools with clear public information and a realistic value proposition. Common checks include:
- Transparent pricing and product positioning
- Usability (basic onboarding, working core features)
- Ongoing maintenance (active product updates)
- Reasonable compliance expectations for the tool type
Why is a tool missing, incomplete, or removed?
Sometimes a tool is not listed (or removed) because information is unclear, the product changes significantly, or the listing no longer meets our inclusion standards.
If you think we missed something, send a note via Contact.
How often do you update pricing/features?
We update when we notice meaningful changes (pricing, policy, feature scope, or real-world experience). However, details can lag behind reality.
If you spot outdated info, please message us via Contact (correction).
How are categories and tags defined?
Categories and tags are editorial labels meant to help discovery and filtering. They’re simplified—real workflows overlap. If a tag feels wrong, report it and we’ll review.
Reviews, recommendations, and rankings
Where does review content come from—hands-on testing or research?
We use a mix depending on the topic: hands-on evaluation where feasible, plus structured research and documentation review. When we can’t test a scenario directly, we aim to be explicit about limitations and focus on verifiable details.
Do you follow a fixed review process?
Generally yes: define a scenario → run repeatable tasks → record results and constraints → compare alternatives → publish “best for / not ideal for” guidance.
What dimensions do you evaluate?
Common dimensions include:
- Learning curve and onboarding
- Core capabilities and limits
- Output quality (especially for AI tools)
- Speed and workflow support (batching, automation, collaboration)
- Integrations (API, plugins, toolchain fit)
- Pricing and quotas (free tiers, transparency, paywalls)
- Privacy/data handling (when relevant)
- Stability and maintenance
- Support and documentation
Why don’t you have one “total score”? Why do rankings change?
A single score hides trade-offs. Many teams prefer “fit for purpose” over an abstract winner. Rankings and highlights can change when pricing, features, reliability, or our editorial judgment changes.
How are “Trending this week”, “Editor picks”, and “New tools” generated?
- Editor picks are tools we explicitly flag as strong choices for common scenarios.
- New tools reflects recently published/added tools in our database.
- Trending is a lightweight highlight based on our current signals (for example, rating-related signals and editorial curation). It is not paid placement.
How do you handle different needs (beginner vs pro vs team vs enterprise)?
We try to call out who a tool is best for and where it breaks down: onboarding complexity, collaboration support, compliance expectations, integration needs, and cost at scale.
Do you have a compare feature?
Yes—use the Compare page to view 2–4 tools side-by-side.
Ads, sponsorships, and affiliate links (disclosure)
Do you currently run ads?
Currently: no ads.
What are affiliate links? Will they affect conclusions?
Affiliate links are tracked links that may earn a small commission if you purchase. If we add affiliate links in the future, we will disclose them clearly. We do not sell conclusions and do not change recommendations based on payments.
How would sponsored content be labeled?
If we publish sponsored content in the future, we will label it clearly (e.g., “Sponsored” or “Advertisement”).
Do you accept “pay-to-rank” or “pay to change conclusions”?
No.
Privacy and safety
What data do you collect?
This depends on the feature you use. For details, see our Privacy & Cookie Policy.
In short, we may use analytics and anti-abuse protections for the Contact form.
What should I know about external links and third-party tools?
Tool pages and reviews contain external links. When you leave InpaintHub, third-party privacy and security practices apply. Always review a tool’s policies before uploading sensitive materials.
Any safety tips for AI tools that accept uploads?
- Avoid uploading sensitive or confidential images unless you trust the provider.
- Check whether the provider uses uploads to train models (and whether you can opt out).
- Understand retention/deletion settings if available.
Corrections, feedback, and updates
How do I report an error or suggest an update?
Use Contact (correction) and include the page URL plus the corrected info.
How do you handle vendor correction requests?
We review requests and may update factual details (pricing, features, links, policies). We do not guarantee changes to editorial conclusions.
Do you keep a visible changelog on pages?
Not consistently yet. We display published/updated dates where available and may add more explicit revision notes in the future.
