Methodology and site overview
About
What InpaintHub is, what we publish, and how we evaluate inpainting and photo retouching tools.
What InpaintHub is
One-line positioning: InpaintHub is a practical directory and review hub for inpainting and photo-retouching tools—built to help you choose faster, with fewer surprises.
We’re for people who need reliable tools to ship work: operators, designers, AI builders, developers, and anyone doing creative or professional work where image editing is part of the workflow.
Why we exist
- There are too many tools, and the signal-to-noise ratio is low.
- Marketing pages rarely tell you the real limits and trade-offs.
- Trying everything yourself is expensive (time, money, and switching cost).
Our goal is to provide navigation + scenario-based reviews + comparison guidance so you can quickly shortlist the right options.
What we publish
- Directory & category pages: browse tools by use case, tags, pricing, and platform.
- Tool detail pages: key features, pricing notes, limitations, and practical alternatives.
- Reviews & comparisons: scenarios, pros/cons, and “who it’s for / not for”.
Updates & revisions: when a tool changes materially (version, pricing, policies, or experience), we aim to update the listing or review. Information can still be out of date sometimes—corrections are welcome.
How we include and recommend tools
We try to include tools that are reasonably transparent and usable, and we prefer products that are actively maintained.
- Inclusion basics: clear product information, usable onboarding, ongoing updates, and reasonable compliance expectations.
- We may exclude or treat cautiously: exaggerated claims, dark patterns, aggressive paywalls, or excessive permissions that don’t match the feature.
- How we rank/recommend: we prioritize scenario fit and trade-offs—not bids or payments.
How we review tools
Workflow
- Select tools for a scenario.
- Run repeatable test tasks.
- Record results and limitations.
- Compare alternatives and workflows.
- Publish a clear recommendation (with who it fits best).
Dimensions we usually consider
- Onboarding cost (setup time, learning curve)
- Core capabilities (what it can and can’t do)
- Output quality / results (especially for AI tools)
- Speed & workflow (batching, automation, collaboration)
- Integration & ecosystem (API, plugins, toolchain fit)
- Pricing & limits (free tiers, transparency, paywalls)
- Privacy & data handling (when relevant)
- Stability & maintenance (bugs, updates, reliability)
- Support & documentation
How we present conclusions
We prefer multi-dimensional notes over a single “winner”. You’ll typically see a practical summary plus: best for, not ideal for, and suggested alternatives.
How we stay current
- We update when pricing, policies, or real-world experience changes.
- We may miss changes—please report issues or outdated details.
How we handle monetization
Current: no ads.
Possible future: ads, sponsorships, or affiliate links. If we add them, we will label sponsored placements clearly. We do not sell conclusions, and partnerships will not change our recommendations.
If the site generates revenue in the future, it may help cover server and testing costs.
